Welcome back it's Term 3....
We have done a bit of revamping with some groups and acquired new leaders.
We launch with Shout band back in Shout!!!! ready to rock our world and lead us in some worship.
Peter Riggs is on deck this weekend leading our up front piece with Celebrity Heads as we explore who Jesus really was and who is he in our lives?
Our small group leaders will catch up with their groups and explore a bit more of Mark 8 with them.
As we look at Mark we can ask out kids questions at home: What can we learn from Peter about the way we relate to Jesus? The nature of Jesus? How we show our love for him?
I am sure we can all relate to Peter in some way from his following of Jesus, a disciple and friend to deny

Well this week we continue checking out the story about Solomon - after last weeks amazing story of when Solomon listened to God we find out what happens when he ignored God and didn't follow his instructions. Does that sound a little familiar to anyone - can you relate to ignoring God and doing your own thing - well be ready to share a moment with your kids because they might come home asking.
Last week we also heard from a couple of our leaders and a couple of people popped into Shout to share their stories about when they felt God was really close to them and telling the something. They were amazing to hear and the kids enjoyed hearing such personal stories and people visit them. 
We had great fun in our small groups with construction making, cooking, getting creative with paints and having fun. We now allow our leaders to take a break and we will finish the term with Susanne Milne sharing the second part of Solomons' story working with some of our parents and than we kick into holiday mode for July.

Hi All
We begin a two week series with Solomon and realising that the things we do in our life are important to God.
This is the last week with Small Group Leaders for the term ... we have mixed groups next week and then kick into holiday mode.
This week we explore Solomon following God's instructions to build a great temple and place of worship, our leaders will  be getting creative with lots of different materials - perhaps some box construction and temple making of our own. 
We are having some visitors in Shout sharing a little about themselves and a story about when they knew God was close to them.
Kindy is exploring the temple as well and will be having a go at building a tower with some of the blocks out there. 
I wonder how high there tower will go.

This week we continue looking at the promises God gave to us with Jesus and the Holy Spirit coming to us. In Kindy we look at Peter and how he felt when Jesus his friend was gone and how the Holy Spirit helped him and can help us too.
In our older group Carolyn Sharp is sharing with us her thoughts on the story and how we can be a light for Jesus.
Our parents are coming out to work with our kids and help with the activities.

We have shout band joining us again this weekend leading us in worship.

Our verse for the last 2 weeks has been from Revelation 21:3 
Now God's home is with human beings!  He will live with them, and they shall e his people.


Prayer @ Home
Chat with your kids about how they can ask God to help them live for him this week. In our daily lives we are forever going forwards and back and crossing paths with many people. At school, home, sporting events or playing with their friends.

This week our small group leaders are back in action with their groups!!

we have 3 of our groups sharing the message through a drama and than we will jump into our own groups for catch up time, checking out the story and creating in groups.

I have attached an article about your child and the bible from Scripture Union -it  may be have some ideas that you have tried or new ones that you haven't. Check it out for a read with your kids.

Last week, we had a freebie with our small groups - we followed on with our Worship theme and the kids had a chance to create their own instrument. More banging than anything and lots of fun!!!

Kindy completed Ruth and her story and talked about people that help us.

This week Shout Band return for the Long Weekend and we are going to sit back with a dvd with our kids!! You might even smell some popcorn cooking.

This weekend our leaders will be working in our small groups and revisiting the Easter story and what happened after Jesus died. We will look at the people involved, reactions of his disciples and followers.
I have added a few resources that might be helpful to look at with your kids.

This week we return to the story of Jonah - in Kindy and Schoolies.
Schoolies will have Craig Cram leading the next chapter in the Jonah adventure with group leaders returning this week and the next.
